ISLANDS off THRACE, Thasos. Circa 148-90/80 BC. AR Tetradrachm (16.79 g, 11h). Imitative issue. Head of young Dionysos right, wearing ivy wreath / HERAKLEOUS EWTHROS QASIWN, Herakles, nude, standing facing, head left, holding club in right hand, lion skin draped over left arm; monogram to inner left. Prokopov, Silberprägung, group XII, 763 (V AE2/R 569); cf. SNG Copenhagen 1040 (for prototype). Good VF, dark gray toning with golden hues around the devices. Struck on excellent metal.
