KINGS of MACEDON. Philip V. 221-179 BC. AR Tetradrachm (16.41 g, 11h). Pella or Amphipolis mint; Ar-, magistrate. Struck circa 188/7-184 BC. Helmeted head of Philip as the hero Perseus left, harpa over shoulder, in the center of a Macedonian shield / BASILEWS FILIPPOU, Club; AP monogram above, two monograms below; all within oak-wreath; harpa to outer left. Mamroth, Philip 2; cf. SNG Alpha Bank 1052; SNG München -; SNG Saroglos -. EF, attractive dark gray toning with golden hue around the devices, a hint of die rust on obverse. Fine style.
