EUBOIA, Karystos. Uncertain tyrant. Circa 235-200 BC. AR Didrachm (7.07 g, 6h). Laureate head of Apollo right / KARIS, Nike driving galloping biga right, holding kentron in right hand, reins in left; trident head below horses. Wallace, Tyrant, group 1, Obv.II/Rev.- (unlisted rev. die); BCD Euboia 574 (same obv. die); SNG Copenhagen -; Hunterian 5 (same obv. die). Good VF, minor porosity, slight die shift on reverse. Extremely rare early issue with Apollo rather than portrait head, this reverse die apparently unpublished.
