Vitellius. AD 69. Æ As (11.50 g, 7h). Spanish mint (Tarraco?). Struck circa January-June AD 69. A VITELLIVS IMP GERMAN, laureate bust left, globe at point of bust / LIBERTAS RESTITVTA, S-C across field, Libertas, draped, standing facing, head right, holding pileus in right hand and scepter in left. RIC I 43; BMCRE 105; BN 19; Cohen 49. Good VF, dark blue-green patina with an attractive layer of contrasting light red-brown earthen deposits. Wonderful two-tone surfaces.
