Helmeted figure of Leo, wearing loros, standing facing, holding spear in right hand, globus cruciger in left / Large M; [monogram above], palms flanking; [SCL]. DOC 52; MBBS 72; Spahr 297; MIB 30; SB 1529. VF, dark brown patina, a little rough. Overstruck on follis of Theodosius III (SB 1496). Rare.
The undertype on the reverse is clearly visible, with the monogram of Theodosius and M flanked by palm fronds.
