IOAHHЪ • III • Б • M • IMП : ICAMOД : BCEPOC, laureate and draped bust right / MOHETA P(OУ)БЛЬ 17 41, crowned double-headed imperial eagle facing with wings displayed, holding scepter and orb; coat-of-arms of Moskva framed by Order of St. Andrei Первозванного (the First Called) on breast; above, imperial crown. On edge: (four flowers) MOHETHAГO • ДBOPA (two flowers) C • ПETEPБ(OУ)PXCKAГO. Bitkin 23 var. (obv. stops); Severin 1377 var. (same); Uzdenikov -. NGC photo graded MS 62, this one-year type is a very well struck specimen with lustrous blue-gray patina.

Ivan became Tsar at ten weeks of age when Anna, his adoptive mother, died. His youth ended when he was imprisoned under very unfortunate circumstances until he was assassinated by his guards in 1764. His coinage is thus rare and highly desireable.
