MOHETA ЦEHA POБЛЬ 1797, crowned cruciform П monogram; I in center / HE HAMБ,/HE HAMБ,/A ИMЯHИ/TBOEMУ. in four lines across field; all within ornate square frame; с.м. and Ф.ц in lower corners. On edge: grained right. Bitkin 18; Severin 2405; Uzdenikov 1265. NGC photo graded MS 62, smoothing in second quarter of obverse. This example, a one year type, is very elusive this choice.

Pavl I was the only son of Ekaterina II and her assassinated husband, Petr III. Pavl ruled only a short period, was considered mad, and was assassinated in a palace coup in 1801.
