NORMAN. William II Rufus. 1087-1100. AR Penny (1.31 g, 6h). Voided cross type (BMC III). Salisbury mint; Eadword(?), moneyer. Struck circa 1092-1095. +PILLELM REI (MR ligate), crowned facing bust; stars flanking / +E[AD?]PORD ON SIE, voided cross pattée, with annulet in center, over cross annulettée. SCBI -; cf. BMC 216; EMC 1300.0026 (same dies); North 853; SCBC 1260. Good VF, darkly toned. Extremely rare.
