IONIA, Ephesus. Geta. AD 209-211. Æ 17mm (2.75 g, 6h). Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / Two nude children seated playing with astragali; crescent to left. Cf. SNG Copenhagen 435; cf. BMC 283. VF, green patina, minor encrustation.
From the J. S. Wagner Collection.
Normally on this type there is a cult-statue of Artemis Ephesia behind the children, and a crescent and star in the fields. The fact that both the statue and star are missing from this die suggests that maybe it was unfinished.
