            SICILY, Syracuse. Hieron II. 275-215 BC. Æ 15mm (3.11 g, 1h). Struck circa 269-263 BC. Head of Artemis (or Arethusa) left, hair in sphendone; torch behind / Pegasos flying left. CCO period Ib; BAR issue 58; CNS 202 var. (unlisted symbol); Favorito type 25 (c. 275-269 BC); SNG ANS 1017-20 var. (symbol). Good VF, green patina, minor roughness. An exceptional specimen, probably the finest known.
