ISLANDS off THRACE, Thasos. Circa 168/7-148 BC. AR Tetradrachm (16.94 g, 11h). Wreathed head of young Dionysos right / Herakles standing facing, head left, holding club, lion skin draped over left arm; monogram to inner left. Prokopov, Silberprägung, group I, - (V1/R10 [unlisted combination]); SNG Copenhagen 1038. Good VF, minor porosity. Exceptional head of Dionysos; struck from the earliest die of this coinage.
