KINGS of MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’. 336-323 BC. AR Tetradrachm (15.84 g, 8h). Uranopolis mint(?). Struck under Kassander, Philip IV, Antipater, or Demetrios I Poliorketes, circa 300-290 BC. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin / Zeus Aëtophoros seated left; in left field, star on cone above X. Price 512 var. (X below throne). EF, lightly toned, underlying luster, area of flat strike, slight die shift. Unpublished variety.
