BOEOTIA, Thebes. Circa 425-395 BC. AR Stater (12.06 g). Later style. Boeotian shield, club across upper half / Bearded head of Dionysos right, wearing ivy wreath; all within concave incuse. BCD Boiotia 444 (this coin). Fine, even gray tone. Severe artistic rendering of Dionysos, a rare reverse die.
