ATTICA, Athens. Circa 165-42 BC. AR Tetradrachm (16.98 g, 12h). New Style coinage. Polycharm-, Nikog-, and Dionysios, magistrates. Struck 133/2 BC. Helmeted head of Athena right / Owl standing right, head facing, on amphora; magistrates’ names in fields, winged kerykeion to left, E on amphora, ME below; all within wreath. Thompson 379a (same dies); SNG Lockett 1936 (same dies). Superb EF, light iridescent toning.
