CILICIA, Anazarbus. Valerian I. AD 253-260. Æ Tetrassarion (16.14 g, 12h). Dated CY 272 (AD 253/4). Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / Male figure, wearing kausia, seated right on rock outcropping, head left, resting hand on rocks and holding mast with furled sail; grain shovel leaning behind against rocks, date below. Ziegler 839 (Vs2/Rs9); SNG France 2140; SNG Levante 1513 (all from the same dies). Good VF, blue-black patina with gray overtones. Very rare.
