Augustus. 27 BC-AD 14. Æ Quadrans (3.16 g, 4h). Mint in Gaul (auxiliary mint of Lugdunum). Struck circa 10 BC. Laureate head right / Eagle standing facing with wings spread, head left. RIC I 227; Lyon -; RPC I 508. VF, brown patina, traces of porosity.
Giard, in Le monnayage de l’atelier de Lyon, regards this issue as a product of an auxiliary mint of Lugdunum. They were probably minted in the territory of the Lingones, the Aedui, or the Sequani, if not struck in Lugdunum.
