Divus Septimius Severus. Died AD 211. Æ Sestertius (23.16 g, 12h). Consecration issue. Rome mint. Struck under Caracalla and Geta, AD 211. Bare head right / Five-tiered funeral pyre surmounted by triumphal quadriga: first and fourth tier draped, the others arched with statues. RIC IV 490B (Caracalla); Banti 23; E. Biaggi, The Superb Patinas of the Sestertii of Imperial Rome, 447 (this coin illustrated). VF, light brown patina, hairline flan crack. Rare.
