GERMANY, Regensburg (Stadt). Josef I. Holy Roman Emperor, 1705-1711. AR Taler (29.02 g, 12h). Johann Michael Federer, mintmaster; Philipp Heinrich Müller, engraver. Dated 1706. Crossed keys within cartouche, winged cherub above, wing (mintmaster’s mark) below, 17 06 flanking / Crowned double eagle with wings spread, coat of arms on breast. Beckenbauer 6162; Davenport 2608. Good VF, toned, possible traces of mounting. Very rare. Only 250 pieces struck. The first Regensburg taler produced with edge knurling.
