MESOPOTAMIA, Uncertain. 2nd-1st century BC. Æ 20mm (6.59 g, 2h). Radiate and diademed beardless male head right / Camel standing left. Slocum p. 46 and pl. 7, C. Near VF, dark brown patina, minor roughness, strike doubling on reverse, resulting in the partial loss of the front part of the camel. Very rare.
From the J.S. Wagner Collection.
Only one example of this type was found in the large hoard from Nisibis. Consequently, Slocum does not consider it as belonging to Hatra, which at this point was only a caravan stop and without any minting facilities
