Julius Caesar. 49-48 BC. AR Denarius (3.41 g, 12h). Obverse brockage. Military mint traveling with Caesar. Elephant advancing right, trampling on horned serpent / Incuse of obverse. Cf. Crawford 443/1; cf. CRI 9; cf. Sydenham 1006; cf. RSC 49. VF, toned, some scratches beneath tone, light porosity. A rarely encountered brockage.
