PTOLEMAIC KINGS of EGYPT. Arsinoe III, wife of Ptolemy IV. 220-204 BC. Æ Dichalkon (12mm, 1.31 g, 12h). Paphos mint. Diademed and draped bust right / Double cornucopia tied with fillet. Svoronos 1161; Weiser 96; SNG Copenhagen 650. Near VF, green patina, reverse off-center.
M. Kreuzer, in The Coinage System of Cleopatra VII and Augustus in Cyprus, assembles evidence pointing towards a later date for these small Ptolemaic bronzes, attributing them to Cleopatra VII. This attribution, however, has been contested and is not yet settled.
