MYSIA, Pergamum. Caracalla. AD 198-217. Æ 40mm (42.62 g, 6h). Laureate and cuirassed bust right / Caracalla standing left, saluting tree with Asklepian serpent coiled around it; between, statue of Telesphoros. SNG France -; BMC 326 (same obv. die). Fair, brown surfaces. A protocontorniate, the edges having been tapped to create raised rims.

This medallion was probably struck following Caracalla’s visit to Pergamum and its temple to Asklepios in AD 214.
