KINGS of MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’. 336-323 BC. AR Tetradrachm (17.13 g, 1h). Uncertain mint in Greece or Macedon. Struck circa 310-275 BC. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin / AΛEΞANΔPOY, Zeus Aëtophoros seated left; in left field, dolphin left; in exergue, bucranium between T I. Price 850; SNG München -; SNG Alpha Bank -; SNG Saroglos 371 (same dies). Good VF, slight die shift, minor die wear on obverse. Rare bucranium symbol.
