KINGS of MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’. 336-323 BC. AR Tetradrachm (17.06 g, 12h). Uncertain mint in western Asia Minor, or along the Black Sea in Thrace. Struck circa 323-280 BC. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin / AΛEΞANΔPO[Y], Zeus Aëtophoros seated left; kantharos in left field. Price 2719 (same obv. die as illustration); SNG München -; SNG Alpha Bank -; SNG Saroglos -; Meydancikkale 505 (same obv. die). Near EF, minor die wear on reverse. Fine style.
