KINGS of MACEDON. Demetrios I Poliorketes. 306-283 BC. AR Tetradrachm (17.23 g, 2h). Chalkis mint. Struck circa 291-290 BC. Diademed and horned head right / BAΣIΛEΩΣ ΔHMHTPIOY, Poseidon Pelagaios standing left, right foot on rock, holding trident in left hand; to outer left, monogram and dolphin downward. Newell 146 (dies CXLVII/293); SNG München -; SNG Alpha Bank -; SNG Saroglos -. Near EF, underlying luster, clashed obverse die. Extremely rare issue, apparently the second known (the other in the ANS).
