INDIA, Kushan Empire. Vima Takto (Soter Megas). Circa AD 80-100. Æ Tetradrachm (12.35 g, 7h). Helmeted and draped bust left, holding spear in raised right hand; to left, “Vi” in Kharosthi; to right, tamgha; all within bead-and-reel border / BACIΛЄV BACIΛЄωN CωTHP MЄΓAC OO, crowned and diademed king right on horseback, raising right hand in gesture of benediction and holding reins with left; tamgha to right. Senior B16.1 var.; MK pl. 176/19-1 var.; Donum Burns 57 var.; Göbl, Antike 2331 var. (all varieties without the OO in obv. legend). Good VF, black-green patina with dusty olive overtones. Rare variety and of finer style than the published specimens.
