Diva Faustina Senior. Died AD 140/1. Æ Sestertius (26.01 g, 5h). Rome mint. Struck under Antoninus Pius, circa AD 141-146. DIVA AVGVSTA FAVSTINA, veiled and draped bust left, wearing stephane / PIET-AS AVG, Pietas standing left, dropping incense over lighted altar with right hand, holding incense or perfume box in left. RIC III 1146A (Pius); Strack 1242; Banti 94 (this coin illustrated); BMCRE 1451 (Pius) var. (break in rev. legend). Near EF, green and brown patina, cleaning and smoothing marks in fields, short hairline flan crack. Artistic portrait. Very rare, one of two specimens recorded by Banti.
