HUNNIC TRIBES, Alchon Huns. Uncertain king (Mihirakula?). 6th century. AR Drachm (24mm, 3.28 g). Crowned bust right; SAHI JA(?) in Brahmi behind, thunderbolt before / Fire altar with ribbons, attendants flanking (almost completely obscured). Possibly an unrecorded type. Good VF, light porosity.

This type appears closest to Göbl’s emissions 140-144, ascribed to Mihirakula or his successors. It is perhaps a well preserved specimen belonging or related to emission 142, which has a symbol tentatively described by Göbl as a trident, or emission 143, featuring an indistinct symbol.
