Kalima, ornately inscribed in four lines / “The great imam of Samarqand” in three lines; tamgha of Qaidu within first line; date across upper field. Nyamaa 40 var. (date, ornaments); cf. Qaidu was the grandson of Ugedai khan. Although located within the realm of the Chagatayid khans, Qaidu attempted to establish an independent realm for the Ugedaid line. As such, he is not included within the Chagatayid line of khans.
