Carausius. Romano-British Emperor, AD 286-293. Antoninianus (21mm, 3.17 g, 5h). ‘C’ mint. Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / PAX [AVG], Pax standing left, holding branch and scepter; [F]-O//C. RIC V 305. Good VF, green-brown patina. Overstruck on a Gallienus Antoninianus with his profile visible on Carausius’ head and the hind quarter of a Centaur on the reverse (RIC V 163). Interesting.
