AXUM. Armah. Circa 630-650. Æ 19mm (1.18 g, 11h). Crowned and draped full-length figure of Armah, wearing beaded necklace, enthroned right, holding cruciform scepter / Openwork cross with central gilding connected to ring by stem; wheat stalks emerging from ring. Hahn, Aksumite 72a; Munro-Hay type 153; BMC Axum 577. Good VF, green patina, light deposits.

Armah, the last Axumite king to issue coins, was the only ruler to depict himself enthroned. Other than a unique gold coin of MHDYS (Munro-Hay type 67), this is the only Axumite type with a full-length representation of a king.
