THRACE, Perinthus. Caracalla. AD 198-217. Æ Medallion (40mm, 37.06 g, 1h). Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / Caracalla, holding eagle-tipped scepter and patera, driving slow quadriga left. Schönert-Geiss, Perinthos 622 (same rev. die); BMC 40; Varbanov 248 (this coin illustrated). VF, green and brown patina, minor smoothing. Rare. An artistic portrait.
