CALABRIA, Tarentum. Circa 430-425 BC. AR Nomos (7.92 g, 1h). Phalanthos riding dolphin left; cockle shell below / Taras as Oikistes seated left, holding distaff and staff. Fischer-Bossert group 17, 250c (V118’/R187) = Vlasto, Taras type 20B, b = Côte 74 = Pozzi (Boutin) 312 (this coin); Vlasto 200; HN Italy 844; Berlin 73 (same dies). Near VF, toned, light porosity, a few scratches under tone on obverse. Rare die combination.
