SICILY, Katane. Circa 425-420 BC. AR Tetradrachm (17.05 g, 4h). Charioteer driving slow quadriga right / Wreathed head of Apollo right. Mirone 35 (same obv. die); cf. Rizzo pl. XI, 1/2 (same obv./rev. dies); SNG ANS 1240 (same obv. die). VF, struck from worn obverse die. Well centered.
This reverse die was paired with both obverse varieties, with and without Nike above the quadriga (see, e.g., Rizzo pl. XI, 2, SNG Lloyd 896, Gulbenkian 183, or CNG 79, 73, for the latter).
