KINGS of THRACE. Lysimachos. 305-281 BC. AR Tetradrachm (17.11 g, 12h). Uncertain mint. Early-mid 3rd century BC. Diademed head of the deified Alexander right, with horn of Ammon / Athena Nikephoros seated left, left arm resting on shield, spear behind; monogram to inner left, ΘE in exergue. Thompson -; Müller 316 var. (ΘE ligate); SNG Berry 407 (Byzantion); Meydancikkale 2704-5 (Byzantion). Good VF, minor obverse die shift. Fine style portrait.

While both SNG Berry and Meydancikkale place this issue at Byzantion, Marinescu (pp. 25-6) strongly doubts this attribution, noting a strong similarity in portrait style to certain Lampsakos issues.
