Faience and carnelian amulets. Egyptian, XXVI Dynasty to Roman Period, 664 BC-circa 1st century AD. Amulets of: a) Bes. Length: 1.4 cm. b) Hedgehog. Length: 1.4 cm. c) Nefer hieroglyph (for “beauty” or “goodness”). Length: 2.3 cm. d) Sebek (crocodile). Length: 2.2 cm. e) Wedjat (“Eye of Horus”). Length: 2.6 cm. The first four are faience, the last carnelian. Lengths: 1.4-2.3 cm. Good condition, the figure of Bes with a minor area of surface damage, the hedgehog chipped. The Eye of Horus is perhaps modern. Five (5) amulets in lot.
