ELIS, Olympia. 78th-82nd Olympiad. 468-452 BC. AR Drachm (5.59 g, 6h). Eagle, with wings displayed above, flying left, holding hare by its belly and tearing at it with his beak; c/ms to left and right of uncertain type / Thunderbolt, with wings above and volutes below, within circular incuse. BCD Olympia -; BCD Peloponnesos -; SNG Copenhagen -; BMC -; Traité -; cf. McClean 6600 (obv. type left, ethnic reversed). Fine, lightly toned. This variety unpublished in the standard references.
