ARKADIA, Arkadian League. Circa 460-450 BC. AR Hemidrachm (2.96 g, 8h). Tegea mint. Zeus Lykaios seated right, holding scepter; [eagle flying right from his hand] / Head of Kallisto, wearing tainia, facing slightly left within incuse square. Williams, Confederate, period III, 220 (O148/R139); BCD Peloponnesos (Tegea) -; SNG Copenhagen 179 (same dies). Near VF, toned, die breaks on reverse, a few marks in fields. The last of the facing-head dies in the series. Very rare.
