ARKADIA, Arkadian League. Circa 340-330 BC. AR Obol (0.88 g, 12h). Megalopolis mint. Horned head of Pan left / League monogram above syrinx. Cf. BCD Peloponnesos (Megalopolis) 1517-8 for type, 1524-5 for style. Good VF, toned.

Although this coin has no subsidiary markings, as do the obols BCD Peloponnesos 1517-8, the style is much closer to the later issues struck alongside the triobols. This suggests that the issue of these early obols were issued down to the time the triobol issues began, circa 330 BC.
