ARKADIA, Psophis. Circa 490-460 BC. AR Obol (0.88 g, 6h). Forepart of the Keryneian Hind right / Fish right; archaic ΨO above, Φ) below; all transversely within incuse square with rayed sides. BCD Peloponnesos 1662 corr. (ethnic, same dies). VF, toned, light porosity, die break on obverse. Very rare.

Struck from the same obverse die as the previous coin, but with further die wear, including an obvious break near the top left edge.

Although most of the early issues of Psophis have a short ethnic of archaic Ψ or archaic ΨO, this piece has an exceptionally longer ethnic, archaic ΨOΦI (=Psophi-).
