ARCADIA, Megalopolis. Septimius Severus. AD 193-211. Æ Assarion (3.15 g). [AV]T K [Λ] CEΠ [CEB]HPO[C] C, laureate head right / MEΓAΛOΠO ΛEITΩN, Tyche standing left, holding phiale over lighted altar and cornucopia. Cf. BCD Peloponnesos 1571.3 (for obv. type). Near VF, rough brown patina. Unpublished in the standard references, an apparently unique reverse type for this mint and emperor.

Ex BCD Collection (not in LHS sale).

While this reverse type is well-known on the coinage of the Peloponnesus during this period, apparently no specimens are recorded for this city.
