Clodius Albinus. As Caesar, AD 193-195. AR Denarius (19mm, 3.07 g, 7h). Rome mint. Struck AD 193. [L A]EL AVREL COS ALBINVS • CAES, bare head right / PM TR P XVII AVG COS, Providentia standing facing, head left, holding wand over globe and scepter. Cf. RIC V 1a (for type with PROVID • AVG • COS •); cf. RSC 58 (same). VF, lightly toned, a few flan cracks, scrape on reverse. A highly interesting specimen, overstruck on a late issue of Commodus (or struck from partially recut dies?).
