LUCANIA, Metapontion. Circa 400-340 BC. AR Nomos (7.37 g, 7h). Head of Demeter right, wearing fillet; poppy-head below chin / Barley ear of six grains on left, seven on right, with leaf to right; grasshopper to right. Noe 406 (same dies); HN Italy 1515; Pozzi 168 (same dies). VF, darkly toned. Rare, Noe records only 2 examples.
