Though bearing no legends or markings to indicate the king for whom it was issued, this coin features a style of portraiture which most closely matches that of Aretas IV early in his reign. Additionally, as Aretas did strike a few anepigraphic issues (all in bronze), further attribution to him may be made with more certainty.
