INDIA, Kushan Empire. Mid to late 2nd century AD. Æ Seal Matrix. Bronze uniface matrix, decorated with Siva design deriving from reverse of AV dinar of Huvishka: Siva, nimbate, standing facing, head left, pouring water from flask and holding
vajra (thunderbolt), trident, and holding a he-goat; tamgha to left. Back of matrix carefully fitted with attachments for mounting. Size: 19mm in diameter; 6mm in height at highest point. For coin prototype: cf. MK 308; cf. Donum Burns 276-8. Fine, dark brown patina, traces of earthen deposits, rough.
