THRACE, Philippopolis. Caracalla. Caesar, AD 196-198. Æ 19mm (3.81 g, 12h). Bare-headed and draped bust right / Distyle temple of Dionysos with clipeus in pediment, seen in perspective, set on hill; three trees below, with spring between central and right trees. Mouchmov, Philippopolis -; K. Kolev, “Das Trimontium-Motiv auf den antiken Münzen von Philippopolis,” in stephanos nomismatikos, 12-3 (same dies); Varbanov 1567 (same rev. die as illustration). Good VF, green patina, small scrape under patina on cheek of portrait. Extremely rare.
