THRACO-MACEDONIAN TRIBES, Uncertain. Circa 510-490 BC. AR Tetrobol (14mm, 2.78 g). Head of roaring lion left / Quadripartite incuse square. Traité I 1803; SNG Fitzwilliam 1690; SNG Kayhan 933; Weber 2404. Fine, porous surfaces. Extremely rare.

An extremely rare and interesting coin. This type has been attributed to an uncertain mint in Asia Minor and to Miltiades II of Thrace. The weight standard, however, suggests a Macedonian attribution.
