SYRIA, Seleucis and Pieria. Seleucia Pieria. Diadumenian. As Caesar, AD 217-218. BI Tetradrachm (26mm, 12.19 g, 12h). Bare-headed and cuirassed bust right / Eagle standing facing on thunderbolt, head right, holding wreath in beak. Prieur 1191; Bellinger 79 (same obv. die, rev. not illustrated); Lanz 86 (18 May 1998), lot 588 (same dies). VF, toned, flan slightly irregular. Extremely rare - the third known Diadumenian tetradrachm from Seleucia Pieria. Prieur notes the specimen from the Seyrig Collection, illustrated in Bellinger, is now mising.
