John V Palaeologus, with John VI. 1341-1391. AV Hyperpyron (20mm, 3.46 g, 6h). Constantinople mint. Struck circa 1347-1354. Half-length figure of the the Theotokos,
orans, within city walls with four towers; uncertain sigla / Christ standing facing, crowning John V and John VI kneeling to either side. Cf. DOC 1193; SB 2526. Near VF, areas of flat strike, numerous faint scratches.
