SICILY, Gela. Circa 465-450 BC. AR Tetradrachm (17.34 g, 12h). Charioteer, holding kentron in left hand and reins in right, driving quadriga right; in background, column with Ionic capital / Forepart of bearded man-headed bull (river god) right; CEΛAΣ above; all within shallow incuse circle. Jenkins, Gela 235 (O62/R125); SNG ANS 51; BMC 67 (same dies); Hunterian 3 (same obv. die). Good VF, toned, minor die wear on obverse. Struck from reverse die of fine style.
